However, lucky journalists got invited to a Doctor Who Premiere Event today. The event saw a screening of “The Power of The Doctor” and a press panel featuring Whittaker and the cast. Outgoing Showrunner Chris Chibnall was present along with episode director Jamie Magnus Stone.

Guests have revealed the air time for the upcoming Doctor Who special. “The Power of The Doctor” is set to air at 19:30 BST on Sunday, the 23rd of October. Airing on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on the same day. However, those worried about spoilers can rest easy. Content from the episode and panel with episode stars is embargoed until further notice. According to journalists, the cast and crew talked about the special episode and Doctor Who.

Daleks and Cybermen props were lurking around The Curzon Cinema Bloomsbury. New posters for “The Power of The Doctor” were also present. Featuring Ace, Tegan, Dan and The Doctor. However, some pointed out that John Bishop was absent from the screening. His character’s fate in the special episode is currently highly debated in the community. Doctor Who costume designer Ray Holman was present, along with composer Segun Akinola. Segun departs Doctor Who along with Chis Chibnall following the special episode.

According to a source, Jodie Whittaker’s 13th Doctor regeneration scene was cut from the screening. This is likely to avoid major leaks for Doctor Who. Fans are still heavily debating who will take over as the next doctor. Of course, we know Ncuti Gatwa is lined up to play the 14th Doctor. However, David Tennant is also returning for the show’s 60th anniversary. The question is, who follows Jodie in the special episode? Everyone will need to wait until October 23rd to find out more.
