Star Wars: The Acolyte has come and gone quickly. While the series may not have been the best in modern times, it has reinforced several bits of lore for the Star Wars Universe. Still, the finale episode has given many fans what they wanted. Finally, Star Wars Reveals Darth Plagueis to fans only for a moment. It’s important to remember this is not Plagueis’s story, as much as we may want that.
Star Wars Reveals Darth Plagueis
The final episode of The Acolyte wraps up a lot of the storyline. Still, there are a lot of questions. Yet, as we watch The Stranger (Manny Jacinto) and Osha (Amandla Stenberg) departing the mysterious world, we see someone else. Plagueis is secretly lurking in the shadows. It asks if he has been on the planet the whole time. This may be, in fact, his base, and The Stranger is his apprentice. Many fans speculated who the “True Sith” might be in the Star Wars series. We knew Plagueis had to show up at some point, but there was another contender.
Darth Tenebrous, Plagueis’s master, was suspected to be the true Sith lord. This may still be the case. The little cameo of Plagueis does not give us much to work with. If anything, it sets up more questions that a second season of The Acolyte could do with answering. However, a potential second season for the series is just that. There has been no confirmation of a renewal for The Acolyte. We shall need to wait and see!
Who Is Darth Plagueis In Star Wars?
Darth Plagueis was a Sith Lord of immense power and mystery. Known as “Darth Plagueis the Wise”, he was a member of the Muun species, characterized by their tall, gaunt frames and financial acumen. But Plagueis was far more than a mere banker; he was a master of the Dark Side of the Force, whose influence would shape the entire galaxy’s fate. Shrouded in secrecy, his existence became the stuff of legend, known to only a select few who dared to delve into the darkest corners of Force lore.
His unparalleled mastery of the Force and relentless pursuit of scientific knowledge lay at the heart of Plagueis’s notoriety. He was obsessed with the concept of immortality. Darth Plagueis believed he could unlock the secrets of life and death through a combination of Sith sorcery and cutting-edge science. Plagueis conducted countless experiments, pushing the boundaries of what was thought possible with the Force. His most infamous achievement was the ability to influence midi-chlorians to create life.
Perhaps the most crucial aspect of Darth Plagueis’s legacy was his complex relationship with his apprentice, Palpatine. Plagueis took the young Palpatine under his wing. He recognized in him a potential to bring about the Sith’s long-awaited revenge against the Jedi. Their relationship was mentor and student, master and servant, and ultimately, bitter rivals. Plagueis imparted his knowledge to Palpatine, including his research into immortality. However, in true Sith fashion, this power-sharing would lead to his downfall. In a twist of irony that epitomizes the treacherous nature of the Sith, Plagueis, who sought to conquer death, was ultimately betrayed and killed by his apprentice.
